Sayyid Ibrahimul Khalilul Bukhari - Profile

Sayyid Ibrahimul Khalilul Bukhari was born in 1964 in Kadalundi, a village in Calicut district, Kerala, India. He acquired primary education from his parents especially from his father Sayyid Ahmed Bukhari, spiritual guide of that region. Under the guidance of Beeran Koya Musliyar, he pursued his higher education and graduated with 2nd rank in Islamic Theology (MFB) from Baqiyahu Ssalihath, Velloor in Tamil Nadu, India.

Soon after the completion of his education in 1997, he established Ma’din Academy (Ma'dinu Ssaquafathil Islamiyya) at Swalath Nagar in Malappuram, the Muslims populated region in the state. Now under his supervision and spiritual shadow 15,000 students are gaining their education in about 26 institutions ranging from primary to post graduate level.

Now Sayyid Ibrahimul Khaleelul Bukhari is one of the India's most recognized Muslim personalities. He has traveled the world, lectured to thousands, and composed a number of works spanning Islamic thought and contemporary issues. He is the guardian of orphans, deaf and dumb, blinds and mentally challenged children. Hundreds of thousands of people from different parts of the world congregates at annual prayer congregation held under his leadership at Swalath Nagar every month especially on 26th night of Holy month Ramadan.

• Chairman, Jamia Ma'din, Kerala, India: Established in 1997, Ma'din aims the apex at the forefront of learning, teaching and research. It has now grown into a mass movement of smart learning with more than 25 educational and various other institutions with 15,000 students under its vast crown. Ma’din, setting unique examples in the dissemination of education, is scaling novel heights of triumphs. 
• Patron of Ideal Association for Minority Educational Institutions (IAME). It is an academic organization for promoting education and awareness with 1350 educational centres in India and abroad. More than 500,000 students imbibing the lecture of education under this chain of institutions.
• Governing council member of Islamic Educational Board of India, New Delhi. It runs educational institutions all over India and various Asian and African countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Malawi and Tanzania.
• Member of Global Moderates Foundation, Malaysia. It is an umbrella body of various international organizations under Prime Minister of Malaysia to promote understanding among various communities.

Academic and Teaching Experience
• Research guide and supervisor of Islamic studies on different subjects. He leads various research initiatives between International Islamic University, Malaysia and Ma’din Islamic Academy, Kerala, India from 2010 to present.

• Dean of the College of Islamic Sharee'a in Ma'din Campus, Kerala, India from 1997 to present.

• Chirman, Ma’din Arts and Science College, Kerala. India. 2007 to present.

• Academic supervisor of Ma'din Media school to promote media studies from 2008 to present.

Achievements
• He has been leading India's largest Muslim conference from the year 2000 onwards. The conference is held on the 27th day of Ramzan every year. The conference attracts millions from various parts of the globe. The main highlight of this conference is Pledge against Terrorism.

• He conducted the Encomium, the International Conference on Islam in 2009. Scholars and Islamic personalities from all continents attended the four day conference which popularized the Islamic knowledge tradition in Kerala.

• Established and runs various educational centres to impart religious and material education across India.

• Organized the Interfaith Harmony and Tolerance seminar in collaboration with International Islamic University, Malaysia in connection with Interfaith Harmony Week, an initiative of United Nations.

• Planned and executed the Knowledge Hunt, an innovative learning programme which takes a group of researchers and scholars to various cultural and religious destinations of the globe. The programme covered China, Malayasia, Indonesia, Brunei, Uzbekistan, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Yemen.

• Founder of Research World International, a research organization head quartered in Hong Kong to conduct and coordinate research studies.

• Released Voyage, a documentary series on Muslim cultural lands. The 10 volume project covered the countries Sri Lanka, Oman, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and China.

• Leading a big group of Haji's every year to Holy Harams from 2000.

• Visited and attended various programmes in Australia, Uzbekistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Oman, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Yemen.

International Representation
• Special Observer in Global Moderates Movement Conference, Kuala Lampur, Malaysia in January 2012.

• Nominated to Global Moderates Foundation, an umbrella body of various organization promoting harmony and tolerance in February 2012.

• Attended different programmes in Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent in Uzbekistan in connection with Knowledge Hunt learning programme 2011.

• Represented India in International Muslim Unity Conference, Kula Lampur, Malaysia in December 2009.

• Visited Yemen with one Indian delegation in 2008 in connection with various cultural religious programmes conducted by Darul Musthafa University, Tarim.

• Lead the delegation of scholars and researchers from Kerala to Baithul Muqaddas in the years 2009, 2010, 2011.
